Birches is part of Swirls, Twirls & Birches, a body of work exploring woodland light and atmosphere. The painting offers a contemporary impressionist view of the setting sun through a birch forest. Pale trunks, dark interlacing branches, and touches of green and rose draw the eye between the physical structure of the trees and the shifting light beyond them.

There are a few variables and a couple of calculations happening when are brain processes the smallest amount of information. Lots of the processing happens without active participating, through previously learned models or such. The automated functions can cause issues, but when identified they can be addressed and modified if needed.
